Special Notice
Saturday, March 20, 2021
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
The Session has reconsidered opening the church for in-person services this Lord’s Day, March 21, 2021. With the rising numbers of Covid-19 in Toronto and the potential return to full lockdown, it was thought better to continue with “online” services ONLY, out of an abundance of caution.
I know you were looking forward to getting back to the Lord’s house, but if we open and then have to shut again in a few weeks, that can be more unsettling.
Thank you for your faithful praying, and be encouraged that the Lord is in control of all things and He knows the way that we take.
In Christ,
Pastor Saunders
Divine Provision
A poor minister found his clothes nearly threadbare and so far gone that they would hardly hold together, but as a servant of the LORD, he expected his Master to find him his livery. It so happened that the writer on a visit to a friend had the loan of the good man’s pulpit, and it came into his mind to make a collection for him, and there was his suit. Many other cases we have seen in which those who had served the LORD have found Him considerate of their wardrobe. He who made man so that when he had sinned, he needed garments, also in mercy supplied him with them; and those which the LORD gave to our first parents were far better than those they made for themselves. – C.H. A: The first commandment requireth us to know1, and acknowledge God to be the only true God, and our God2; and to worship and glorify him accordingly3.
1. And thou, Solomon my son, know thou the God of thy father. (1Chronicles 28:9a).
2. Thou hast avouched the LORD this day to be thy God, and to walk in his ways, and to keep his statutes, and his commandments, and his judgments, and to hearken unto his voice: (Deuteronomy 26:17).
3. Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve. (Matthew 4:10).
