Sunday Service Sign Up
We thank the Lord for SermonAudio, especially during these difficult days of lockdown. But we know many of you miss being physically in the church services. The province-wide lockdown restricts us to 10 people for our services. We want to invite individuals and families to attend a Sunday service keeping within the restrictions. To sign-up, please email Jonathan McAnally (jmcanally@torontofpc.ca), indicating how many people in your family and your preference for either a morning or evening service. You will then receive a reply informing you which service is available.
Memorial Service for Mr. Lou Johnson
The Memorial Service for Mr. Lou Johnson will be held at Ajax Baptist Church on Monday, December 28, at 11:30 a.m., for the family only. A live-stream is available through Facebook Live. Click here on Monday to watch the service. The live-stream will be recorded, and if you do not have a Facebook account, you may watch the recorded version after the funeral on YouTube by clicking here. Please be much in prayer for the Johnson family at this sad time.
2021 Bible Reading Calendar
The 2021 Bible reading calendar is now available. The church will be open after the morning service on December 27th until 1:00 p.m. if you wish to stop by and pick up a copy. If you would like a copy mailed to you, please send a request to info@torontofpc.ca. A third option is to view and print a copy by clicking on this link: 2021 Daily Reading Calendar
“Many books in my library are now behind and beneath me. They were good in their way once, and so were the clothes I wore when I was ten years old, but I have outgrown them. Nobody ever outgrows Scripture; the book widens and deepens with our years.” – C.H. Spurgeon
Christmas Card Appeal
Thank you to everyone who has already contributed to the Christmas Card fund! Over $5,000 has been raised so far. There is still an opportunity for anyone who has not yet donated and would like to. This account will be open until December 31, 2020.
Women's Bible Study
The Women’s Bible study will recommence Thursday, January 28th. The focus of the study will be on The Women of Romans 16 – Lessons for Life.
The Shorter Catechism
Q34. What is adoption?
A. Adoption is an act of God’s free grace1, whereby we are received into the number and have a right to all the privileges of the sons of God2.
1. Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God! (1 John 3:1)
2. But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: (John 1:12).
And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; (Romans 8:17).
The Children's Catechism - Doctrine
Q34. Who appointed the two sacraments?
A. Christ, the head of the church.
